Instructor Demonstrator – Painting and Decorating

Hull College Group is one of the largest further and higher education colleges in the country, offering over 1000 courses to over 26,000 students every year.

We are looking to appoint a Painting and Decorating Instructor Demonstrator within the Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment department where you will hold workshop development sessions for practical activities.

Within the role you will provide support for student learning activities in workshops and one to one situations and support on projects and assignments set by academic staff. Delivering high quality resource management including specialist equipment, you will secure work placements and monitor and support students on work experience, including the maintenance of records.

Instructor/Demonstrators will be timetabled for up to 30 hours per week over 52 teaching weeks to facilitate skills practice and skills development sessions for students.

As the successful candidate you will have an NVQ level 2 or 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject. With Maths and English to Level 2, you will hold or be willing to work towards a relevant Level 3 teaching qualification e.g. PTLLS

With recent and relevant experience of Painting and Decorating, you will have a knowledge and understanding of various qualifications within this area, coupled with experience of demonstrating techniques for specialist areas. With a positive can-do attitude and the ability to motivate students, you will be able to work across the age and ability range in a classroom, workshop and one to one situations.
